How this is calculated: live jobs on HR Remote Jobs that state pay, as of November 5, 2026. Pay comes from the employer's own pay fields or a stated pay range in the posting; figures about funding, revenue, bonuses, stipends, 401(k), tuition, equity, commission or on-target earnings are never counted, and when a posting lists several location tiers we use the national tier if one is named, otherwise the widest range. Pay outside $25k–$450k a year (or $12–$200 an hour), or a range whose top is more than 3 times its bottom, is treated as not listed. Each job counts once at the midpoint of its range; a specialty needs 5 jobs with pay to get a band. With 20 or more, the top and bottom 5% are set aside first. The low, typical and high figures are the 25th, 50th and 75th percentile of the midpoints; the thin line runs from the lowest to the highest pay of the jobs counted. Hourly pay is annualized at 2,080 hours, weekly at 52 weeks, monthly at 12. Jobs that don't list pay are left out, so this leans toward employers in states with pay-transparency laws. U.S. median: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS), May 2025, national median annual wage for all employers (not only remote jobs), by the closest occupation code: Human Resources Managers (11-3121); Labor Relations Specialists (13-1075); Human Resources Specialists (13-1071); Training and Development Specialists (13-1151); Compensation, Benefits, and Job Analysis Specialists (13-1141); Payroll and Timekeeping Clerks (43-3051); Human Resources Assistants, Except Payroll and Timekeeping (43-4161); BLS has no separate code for recruiters, HR business partners or HRIS, so those use Human Resources Specialists.
